Chronic conditions
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
This dataset presents trends in persons who reported having one or more chronic health conditions by age, sex, and race/ethnicity in 2-year intervals. The data are from the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), a continuing national sample survey in which data are collected through personal household interviews on a sample of the civilian non-institutionalized population. The collection methodology is computer-assisted personal interviewing (CAPI). Data in this dataset are from the Sample Adult Core of the NHIS. It collects information on conditions and limitations, health behaviors, and access to and utilization of health care services from one randomly selected adult (18 years of age or over) per family. The individual selected as the sample adult must respond for himself/herself.
